ABOUT TRISH
I approach painting as a process of exploration. Rather than working from a fixed plan, I allow each painting to develop through intuitive decisions about colour, shape and composition.
Whether abstract or representational, my work is driven by a fascination with visual relationships and the energy created through colour. Painting brings me great joy, and that sense of curiosity, vitality and engagement lies at the heart of my practice.
ABOUT ANITA
I paint moments of becoming.
My work explores the profound, often unsettling spaces of change. I am drawn to the periods in our lives when an old identity is dissolving but the new self has not yet fully formed. On my canvases, figures and forms emerge and disappear, fall, float, fracture and rise again, carrying the marks of experience, resilience, transformation.
Having lived and worked across several countries and creative disciplines, I have become fascinated by the spaces between identities and places, between what was and what might come next. Painting allows me to explore these in-between states where uncertainty, vulnerability, strength, possibility and wonder coexist.
I work intuitively, usually beginning with the figure and allowing gestures, marks and unexpected discoveries to guide the narrative. Rather than offering answers, I hope my paintings create space for reflection, connection and imagination.
ABOUT ATALANTA
After twelve years away from painting, managing an art show in Arizona, I came back to my studio. What once felt natural now takes patience and persistence. For years, I championed other people's paintings. Coming back meant learning to hear my own voice again.
I work mainly in oil, rooted in the figure but willing to leave it for colour, gesture, and atmosphere when the human form won't hold what I'm after. The paintings are where I work out things I can't say plainly: feelings I can only translate into colour and form.
